Wastewater Operator 1

Wastewater Operator Position Summary: Perform duties necessary to maintain compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory requirements regarding incoming plant water, wastewater and NPDES storm water.

Minimum Qualifications: *High School Diploma or GED *Ability to attain knowledge of water, wastewater and NPDES storm water operations. Obtain wastewater license before completion of 1 year of service in this position. *Requires moderate physical exertion. *Possess a valid Class 1 Wastewater License in state of Delaware or upon approval by State office. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitor water, wastewater and storm water systems and perform corrective action as needed.
• Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment.
• Reports any equipment malfunctions to the Lead Wastewater Operator
• Perform test on water, wastewater and storm water in accordance with proper procedures.
• Monitor and record flow meter readings and calculate daily flows.
• Follow proper procedures in obtaining all types of water samples.
• Maintain equipment used to perform testing and obtaining water samples.
• Perform sampling on monitoring wells, house water, wastewater, and storm water.
• Adheres to all common safety policies and procedures, including the wearing of protective clothing and equipment as required.
• Responsible for following all Company and Government policies and procedures.
