Job Description

Network Engineer / PC Technician

Top Consulting is seeking a hands-on Network Engineer/PC Technician to support and maintain our client’s network infrastructure, computer systems, hardware, and end-user technology. This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining network connectivity, supporting PCs and peripherals, and ensuring reliable technology operations across the organization.

Experience supporting a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred, with automotive manufacturing experience considered a plus. The ideal candidate understands the importance of maintaining reliable network and technology systems in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, firewalls, and other network infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance, connectivity, and availability.
  • Troubleshoot network outages and connectivity issues and provide timely resolution.
  • Assist with network upgrades, expansions, and infrastructure improvement projects.
  • Support network security initiatives and follow established cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and inventory.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to employees for hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues.
  • Configure and support Windows-based computers and applications.
  • Manage PC deployments, replacements, upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to user accounts, passwords, printers, VPN access, and network connectivity.
  • Maintain accurate records of technical issues, resolutions, equipment, and support requests.
  • Provide onsite technical support in a manufacturing and production environment.
  • Support technology infrastructure critical to plant and business operations.
  • Troubleshoot network and computer issues with minimal disruption to production.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and IT teams.
  • Understand the importance of uptime and responsiveness in a production environment.
  • Support technology equipment located in offices, warehouses, production areas, and other facility locations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in network administration, network engineering, desktop support, PC support, or a similar technical role.
  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting: Windows desktop and laptop environments, Network connectivity issues, Switches, routers, and wireless networks, printers and peripheral devices, hardware and software issues
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and general networking concepts.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical priorities.
  • Preferred experience supporting an automotive manufacturing or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting technology in a plant, warehouse, or production environment.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking or manufacturing technology environments.
  • Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, or similar networking technologies.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • Familiarity with network security best practices.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, or similar certifications preferred.
