Job Description

RESPONSIBLILITIES

• Responsible for processing purchase orders, quotes, and confirmations in a timely fashion.
• Manage all open purchase orders pending confirmation from the supplier which should include quantity ordered, pricing, and delivery date.
• Work with suppliers to receive confirmation within 24 hours of placing purchase order.
• Handle quote requests from sales reps or customer service reps in a timely manner.
• Responsible for managing suppliers to meet expectations regarding competitiveness, service, quality, and responsiveness while maintaining a positive relationship with suppliers.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a procurement position managing others (packaging industry highly preferred).
• A critical component of this position is communicating in a positive and supportive manner with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to effectively negotiate
• Solid understanding of inventory and backorders.
