The Role

• Interpret engineering drawings and prepare materials using cutting and grinding methods.
• Assemble ship structures, ensuring accurate fitting, fairing, and tack-welding of components.
• Fabricate various ship items including seats, ladders, flooring, and watertight doors.
• Form materials using a range of machine tools such as guillotines and rollers.

What You'll Need

• Modern Apprenticeship / Trade Papers (SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) and relevant mechanical qualifications.
• Up-to-date fabrication knowledge and hands-on experience in construction or manufacturing.
• Understanding and application of core manufacturing processes and tack welding standards.
• Proficient operation of oxy-fuel and/or plasma cutting equipment.
• Adherence to SHE principles, risk-assessment requirements, and safe working practices (confined spaces, working at height).
