Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced SAP MDG Supplier Master Functional Lead to lead Supplier Master Data Governance initiatives across enterprise SAP landscapes. The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise in SAP MDG-S (Supplier/Vendor), Supplier Lifecycle Management, Business Partner processes, Data Governance, and SAP S/4HANA transformations.

The candidate will be responsible for gathering business requirements, conducting workshops, designing governance processes, configuring SAP MDG Supplier solutions, and leading implementations from design through production support. The role requires close collaboration with Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Compliance, and IT stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Leadership

Lead SAP MDG Supplier Master functional design and implementation activities.

Conduct business workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with stakeholders.

Define Supplier Master governance processes, approval workflows, and business rules.

Provide functional leadership during design, build, test, deployment, and hypercare phases.

SAP MDG Configuration

Configure SAP MDG Supplier Data Model and governance processes.

Design and configure Change Request Types, Workflows, and Business Rules.

Configure BRF+ validations, derivations, and duplicate checks.

Support Fiori-based Supplier Master governance processes.

Collaborate with technical teams for enhancements, integrations, and custom developments.

Supplier Data Governance

Define and enforce supplier data standards and governance policies.

Establish supplier onboarding and maintenance processes.

Support supplier data quality initiatives, data cleansing, and deduplication activities.

Ensure compliance with procurement and regulatory requirements.

Integration & Collaboration

Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Accounts Payable, and Supply Chain teams.

Support integration between SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA, ECC, Ariba, and third-party systems.

Work with Data Migration teams during supplier conversion and transformation programs.

Coordinate testing activities including SIT, UAT, and production validation.

Stakeholder Management

Serve as the primary functional point of contact for Supplier Master Data initiatives.

Provide guidance and recommendations to business and IT leadership.

Prepare functional specifications, process documentation, training materials, and governance policies.

Mentor junior consultants and offshore teams.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 to 5 end-to-end SAP MDG implementation projects.

Strong understanding of Supplier Lifecycle Management processes.

Experience with SAP S/4HANA and Business Partner concepts.

Experience in procurement and supplier data governance processes.

Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder management skills.

Generic Managerial Skills, If any

Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Leadership experience with onsite/offshore teams.

Role Summary

The SAP MDG Material Master Consultant is responsible for designing, configuring, enhancing, and supporting SAP MDG-M (Material Master) processes across global enterprises. The role ensures data governance, master data quality, workflow enforcement, compliance with business rules, and seamless integration across SAP S/4HANA and other enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Functional Design & Configuration

Design, configure, and support SAP MDG Material Master (MDG-M) data models, governance processes, derivation rules, validations, and workflows.

Implement Material Master objects such as basic data, classification, UoM, MRP, purchasing, sales, plant data, storage, EWM-relevant fields, QM, and finance views.

Develop and maintain data validation rules, approval processes, and change request workflows.

2. Data Governance & Quality Management

Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance for Material Master across global operations.

Analyze and resolve data-related issues, MDG workflow errors, and data replication failures.

Enforce governance policies for material lifecycle management and harmonization.

3. Business Analysis & Requirement Workshops

Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into MDG-M functional design documents.

Conduct governance workshops with stakeholders across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics.

Support detailed design and sign-offs for material governance processes.

4. Integration & Technical Collaboration

Integrate MDG-M with S/4HANA, ECC, EWM, QM, PP, PLM, and non-SAP systems.

Coordinate with technical teams for BRF+, UI modeling, data model enhancements, and DRF replication.

Support interface design using IDOCs, SOA services, and other integration technologies.

5. Testing, Deployment & Support

Prepare test scripts, perform unit and SIT testing, and support UAT cycles.

Support cutover, migration validation, and hyper care.

Create training materials and conduct workshops.

SAP MDG certification preferred.

Knowledge of IDOC/ALE/DRF/CPI integrations.
