Senior EPMO Analyst
Location: Tysons, Virginia (Hybrid), open to remote
Role Overview
An opportunity is available for a Senior Analyst or Junior PMO Consultant to support an Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO). This role involves strengthening project execution discipline and improving the consistency of portfolio-level reporting. The position will help define and operationalize practical project management guardrails that promote quality expectations across initiatives. The contractor will partner with stakeholders to tailor guidance based on project size, complexity, and delivery method, while helping build repeatable tools, templates, and reporting practices.
Key Responsibilities
Experience: 3-6 years of experience in project coordination, PMO support, project governance, portfolio reporting, business analysis, or a related function. Demonstrated experience supporting project lifecycle activities is required.
Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of project management documentation such as charters, status reports, RAID logs, and action item trackers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is necessary. Experience with project tracking or workflow tools is preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.

- Define project charter expectations, including scope, objectives, ownership, and sponsor approval requirements.
- Establish requirements-definition practices covering business, technical, and testing requirements.
- Implement a consistent framework for identifying, documenting, escalating, and reporting project risks and issues.
- Define project closure criteria, including signoff, ownership transition for open items, and benefit tracking.
- Define expectations for feedback loops and retrospectives to capture lessons learned.
- A set of common project templates and reporting tools.
- Documented project guardrails and governance requirements tailored by initiative type and complexity.
- Risk, issue, and escalation tracking standards.
- Project initiation and closure checklists.
- Recommendations for continuous improvement based on stakeholder feedback.
