Senior Analytics Engineer - Major UK Bank - Inside IR35 Contract

We're looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join a major UK bank on a significant transformation and rearchitecture programme. This is a hands-on role for someone with strong SQL, dbt and data modelling experience who can work closely with engineering and product teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain data transformations using SQL and dbt
- Design scalable and reliable data models for downstream consumers
- Work closely with engineers and product stakeholders to understand data requirements
- Translate complex or ambiguous requirements into effective technical solutions
- Debug data issues and assess different technical approaches and trade-offs

Key Skills:
- Strong commercial Analytics Engineering experience
- Excellent SQL and dbt experience
- Python experience within a data environment
- Strong data modelling and transformation experience
- Experience working closely with product and technical stakeholders
- Ability to explain technical decisions, trade-offs and limitations
- Financial Services or Insurance experience is required
- GCP experience is beneficial, although AWS or similar cloud experience is also relevant

Location: UK based (remote)
Duration: Initial 6 months (extensions)
Rate: £650-£700 per day
IR35: Inside IR35
