A Med-Surg Ortho RN, or Medical-Surgical Orthopedic Registered Nurse, is a licensed nurse specializing in providing direct patient care to individuals undergoing orthopedic surgeries, managing their pre and post-operative needs, including pain management, mobility assistance, wound care, and education on post-surgical recovery, while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes within a medical-surgical setting; their responsibilities encompass assessing patient conditions, developing care plans, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and coordinating discharge planning.

Med-Surg Ortho RN 

We are seeking a dynamic Medical Surgical RN to join our team. We need a compassionate and reliable RN to provide care and treatment to ill, injured, and recovering adults in our patient centered care model. In this role you will be required to make clinical assessments of situations and manage treatment autonomously. You would be part of a phenomenal team that works hard to support each other while providing excellent care to our patients in a collaborative manner.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE:

  • Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation
  • Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team
  • Analyze the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues
  • Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient and the situation
  • Act as an advocate for patient safety.
  • Ensure effective care and use of time, supplies, and equipment.
  • Educate patients regarding their medications, procedure and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of Recent RN experience. (Does not need to have acute care experience. IT IS STRONGLY PREFERRED HOWEVER, THEY WOULD BE OPEN FOR LTAC EXPERIENCE) (RECENT RN EXPERIENCE IS STRONGLY PREFERRED)
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or able to obtain licensure prior to start is required
  • Current BLS required
  • Current ACLS preferred, required within 6 months of hire
  • BSN is preferred
