Software Engineer Backend - TypeScript/Node.js

Job Description

A growing CRM startup company based in Boston is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help build scalable cloud-based systems that bring data together in one central CRM platform. You'll work with backend technologies and AI to build reliable systems that automate how data is processed, organized, and used.

In this role, you'll make key technical decisions, help shape backend architecture, and work closely with product and engineering teams as the platform grows. You'll also play an important role in expanding how AI is integrated into the product and improving the way customers interact with their data.

Required Skills & Experience

• Highly skilled in TypeScript, and Node.js
• Skilled in AI and agentic workflows
• Experience with AWS
• Experience working with CRMs
• Ability to communicate clearly and make practical tradeoffs

Desired Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience in backend software engineering
• Degree in a relevant field

What You Will Be Doing

Daily Responsibilities

• 100% Hands On
• Own backend features from end to end
• Design and build scalable backend architecture, APIs, data models, and shared services
• Develop and optimize high-throughput Node.js services, PostgreSQL queries, APIs, queues, and background processes
• Communicate with product, engineering leadership, and customers to turn complex or ambiguous requirements into practical technical solutions
