Job DescriptionTax Manager | Walla Walla | $120k to $130k\n5+ Years Public Accounting Experience | CPA Required\n\nThere are firms where Partner track means “maybe one day”.\n\nAnd there are firms where the business is growing quickly enough that someone good can actually get there.\n\nThis is much more the second one.\n\nThe firm is expanding, both in workload and geographically, and they’re looking for a Tax Manager who wants a bit more than another job reviewing returns and waiting for someone above them to move.\n\nYou’d be taking ownership of clients, managing staff, reviewing partnership returns and getting involved in the wider running of the practice.\n\nAs they continue to grow, there’s also scope to take responsibility for smaller acquired practices and build towards equity.\n\nThat’s probably the biggest selling point here.\n\nThey want someone who could genuinely see themselves becoming a Partner in the relatively near future and eventually leading parts of the business.\n\nNot “Partner track” in the vague sense.\n\nActual responsibility.

Actual ownership. Actual equity potential.\n\nThe client base has a strong wine and agriculture focus, so experience in either would be ideal. Hospitality experience also translates really well.\n\nThey use UltraTax and have invested properly in cloud-based systems, so the technology side is modern and actually works.

A surprisingly underrated benefit in public accounting.\n\nThis is primarily an office-based role and they’d ideally like someone in five days a week.\n\nNormally I’d struggle to sell that as a positive, but the office is genuinely nice, the culture is strong and for someone who wants to become part of the leadership team, being around the business probably makes a lot more sense here than it would in a standard Manager role.\n\nSalary is competitive, alongside healthcare, 401k match and the usual benefits.\n\nThey’re also open to helping with relocation for the right person.\n\nIf you’re happy being a Manager forever, there are probably easier jobs.\n\nIf you want more ownership, more influence and the chance to actually build something, this one is much more interesting.\n\nAnd you don’t need to have mentally resigned before getting in touch.
