Semiconductor Manufacturing Technical Trainer

Location Austin, TX Work arrangement On-site Type Full-time or contract

Job summary

We are seeking a Technical Trainer to develop and deliver hands-on training for engineers and technicians in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This person will help new hires build the skills needed to work safely and effectively in a fab and support ongoing training as processes and equipment change.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver classroom, hands-on, and on-the-job training for manufacturing technicians and engineers.
  • Train employees on fab safety, cleanroom protocols, equipment operation, process fundamentals, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Partner with engineering, equipment, manufacturing, and EHS teams to identify skill gaps and maintain accurate training materials.
  • Create training plans, practical assessments, and qualification records for new hires and existing employees.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and update courses based on learner feedback, performance data, and process changes.
  • Support career pathways that help employees progress into technician and engineering roles.
Required qualifications
  • Experience working in semiconductor manufacturing or a closely related high-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Experience training, mentoring, or qualifying technical employees.
  • Working knowledge of cleanroom practices, fab safety, manufacturing equipment, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to learners with different levels of experience.
  • Strong documentation, presentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience developing technical training curricula or hands-on assessments.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor process areas such as lithography, etch, deposition, diffusion, metrology, or test.
  • Experience with learning management systems and employee qualification tracking.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering, electronics, manufacturing, education, or a related field.
