In this senior-level role, you will bridge the gap between clinical workflows, enterprise data architectures, and third-party healthcare systems. You will be responsible for leading complex build initiatives, configuring advanced Epic modules, designing custom interfaces, developing data pipelines (Clarity/Caboodle), and serving as a technical mentor for junior analysts and developers.

Design and execute complex system updates, application upgrades, and specialized technical configurations in accordance with change control standards.
Architect custom workflows, rules, and extensions using Epic build tools (e.g., Chronicles, Hyperspace, Rules Engine, SmartForms, and Extension records).
Integrations & Data Analytics
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot complex HL7 and FHIR interface integrations via Epic Bridges or enterprise integration engines (e.g., Cloverleaf, Corepoint).
Author complex SQL queries, views, and data pipelines from scratch using Epic Clarity and Caboodle data models.
Build, tune, and deploy advanced reporting solutions utilizing Reporting Workbench and SlicerDicer.
System Testing & Support
Lead comprehensive system testing strategies, including unit, integration, user acceptance (UAT), and regression testing prior to production releases.
Serve as a Level 3 technical escalation point for complex, high-priority system incidents, root-cause analyses, and performance issues.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Translate complex clinical, operational, and regulatory requirements into technical design specifications.
Mentor and guide junior and mid-level Epic analysts and developers on coding standards, system build, and troubleshooting best practices.
Collaborate with clinical informatics, compliance teams, vendor engineers, and executive leadership to align system enhancements with organizational goals.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience
7–10+ years of dedicated experience working in an Epic EHR development, analysis, or integration environment.
Proven track record of leading at least two full-lifecycle Epic implementations, major upgrades, or enterprise-scale module rollouts.
Certifications
Active Epic Certification(s) in one or more primary application modules (e.g., EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, Bridges, Clarity/Caboodle, Willow, Cogito).
Technical Skills
Database & Query Languages: Advanced SQL proficiency across Epic Clarity and Caboodle databases.
Integration Standards: Deep knowledge of HL7 v2/v3, FHIR APIs, JSON/RESTful web services, and interface engines.
Programming / Scripting: Familiarity with programming concepts (e.g., M/MUMPS, C#, Python, or JavaScript) for custom interface and web service development.
Methodologies: Strong experience with ITIL incident management frameworks and Agile/Scrum delivery pipelines.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Information Technology, or a related clinical field (or equivalent combination of education and extensive clinical IT experience).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) hosting Epic environments.
Background in healthcare compliance, HIPAA data privacy regulations, and clinical workflows.
