Job Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to support security operations, governance, and compliance initiatives. This role is central to documenting current and future-state security processes, supporting audit readiness, and translating informal practices into repeatable, accountable operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and document current-state security processes through interviews, observation, and analysis to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks
- Support security governance, compliance activities, and audit readiness with accurate, complete documentation aligned to Commonwealth, federal, and industry frameworks
- Prepare reports, presentations, dashboards, and process documentation artifacts to track security initiatives and communicate progress to stakeholders
- Develop future-state process documentation and operational roadmaps to improve security operations maturity
- Participate in security reviews and assessments; document findings, process gaps, and recommended remediation steps
- Gather, analyze, and document requirements for security tools, operational processes, and initiatives
- Translate informal or undocumented security practices into repeatable, documented processes
Required Skills
- 5–8 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a Business Analyst role
- Strong understanding of healthcare IT concepts, frameworks, and best practices
- Federal and/or state government experience required
- Hands-on experience with user stories, Waterfall methodology, and Jira
- Proficiency in writing BRDs (Business Requirements Documents) and FRDs (Functional Requirements Documents)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with security governance and compliance frameworks
- Ability to produce clear, structured, auditable documentation for leadership and audit response
