We are looking for an experienced Data Security Architect to join the team of our exceptional client. This role focuses on designing, governing, and advancing enterprise data security architecture across cloud, SaaS, analytics, and application environments.

The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in data protection, cloud security, and architecture with the ability to translate business risk into scalable technical controls. This position offers the opportunity to establish security standards, shape enterprise data protection strategies, and partner with engineering teams to embed security directly into platforms, applications, and workflows.

What will your day look like?

As a Data Security Architect, you will:

• Define and maintain enterprise data security architecture and security standards

• Design scalable data protection strategies across cloud, SaaS, analytics, and application environments

• Develop and implement enterprise approaches to data discovery, classification, tagging, and governance

• Establish security architectures for sensitive data protection, sharing, movement, and storage

• Design and govern encryption, tokenization, masking, and other data protection solutions

• Develop data access control frameworks utilizing role-based, attribute-based, and policy-driven access models

• Partner with engineering and cloud teams to integrate security controls into modern application and data platforms

• Develop secure design patterns and reference architectures for application, cloud, and data engineering teams

• Ensure data security controls align with organizational risk, compliance, and governance requirements

• Support cloud security initiatives across multi-cloud and hybrid technology environments

• Collaborate with security operations teams to align security monitoring, detection, and response capabilities

• Evaluate emerging data security technologies and recommend improvements to the security architecture roadmap

• Drive the adoption of security-by-design principles throughout the enterprise

• Create architecture documentation, technical standards, implementation guidance, and executive-facing presentations

• Support continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing data risk and enhancing security maturity

You will be a good fit for this role if you have:

• 8-12 years of experience in Data Security, Security Architecture, Cloud Security, or related disciplines

• Strong experience designing enterprise-scale data security architectures

• Experience securing cloud-native data platforms and modern analytics environments

• Deep understanding of:

• Data Discovery
• Data Classification
• Data Governance
• Data Protection
• Data Lifecycle Management

• Experience implementing and supporting:

• Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
• Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) solutions
• Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) platforms

• Experience designing data protection controls including:

• Encryption
• Tokenization
• Data Masking
• Sensitive Data Protection

• Expertise with data access governance models such as:

• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
• Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC)
• Row-Level Security (RLS)

• Experience supporting enterprise identity and access management solutions

• Experience working within cloud environments such as:

• AWS
• Azure
• Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)

• Strong understanding of data platform security and governance concepts

• Experience collaborating closely with security, cloud, application, and data engineering teams

• Strong architectural design, problem-solving, and analytical skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience implementing enterprise DSPM or data protection programs

• Experience supporting data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence organizations

• Experience securing cloud-native data warehouses and analytics platforms

• Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and governance solutions

• Background supporting regulated environments and compliance programs

• Experience developing enterprise security reference architectures

• Familiarity with modern security automation and policy-driven governance solutions

• Professional certifications such as:

• CISSP
• CCSP
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Other cloud or security architecture certifications
