Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced CPA to manage a portfolio of individual and business clients while providing tax preparation, review, planning, accounting oversight, and advisory services. This role requires strong technical expertise, sound professional judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly. The ideal candidate will work independently while remaining connected to firm leadership and the broader team. They will take ownership of client relationships, review the work of other accounting professionals, identify planning opportunities, and help ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule. Your key responsibilities may include:

  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, fiduciaries, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and serve as a dependable year-round point of contact.
  • Provide proactive tax planning and practical recommendations to individuals and business owners.
  • Review financial statements, workpapers, general ledgers, and supporting documentation.
  • Research tax matters and communicate findings clearly to clients and team members.
  • Identify tax risks, planning opportunities, and additional client needs.
  • Review the work of staff and provide constructive guidance.
  • Coordinate with the management team to keep assignments moving efficiently.
  • Contribute to workflow improvements, quality control, and continued firm growth.
  • Licensed CPA
  • 5 - 8 years of public accounting experience
  • Background in preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns
  • Solid understanding of federal and state tax regulations
  • Experience managing client relationships
  • Ability to communicate confidently with business owners and individual taxpayers
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, attention to detail and communication skills are essential.
  • Experience with professional tax, accounting, document-management, workflow software, and QuickBooks or a comparable platform is expected.
  • Experience with CCH Access Tax and related products is a plus
  • Candidates with experience in advising closely held businesses and their owners, developing accounting staff, improving firm processes, or serving as a senior tax accountant, tax manager, or lead CPA will be prioritized.
  • $100,000 - $125,000 annual salary based on experience
  • Employer-funded Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) to help eligible employees pay for qualifying individual health insurance coverage.

  • AICPA and state society membership fees and continuing education are paid by the firm.
