Now hiring for a Structural Engineer - Direct Hire

Location: Alexandria, LA

Salary: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Schedule: Monday - Thursday (7:30 AM - 5:30 PM) + Fridays (8 AM - 12 PM)

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university required.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required, preferably in Louisiana, or ability to obtain Louisiana licensure within 6 months.

  • Advanced knowledge of structural engineering principles, building codes, and regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering design software.


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of structural engineering experience in industrial, municipal, water/wastewater, site development, or commercial building projects.

  • Strong knowledge of current design codes and standards, including IBC, ACI 318, AISC, and ASCE 7.

  • Experience using structural analysis and design software such as RISA, STAAD.Pro, Revit, Advanced Steel, or similar platforms.

  • Project management experience including budgeting, scheduling, cost estimating, contract administration, and construction oversight.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and client management skills.

  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.


Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to work in both office and field environments, including occasional site visits and construction inspections.

  • Ability to review technical drawings, reports, specifications, and engineering calculations.

  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.


Job Duties

  • Lead structural engineering projects from concept through construction for industrial, municipal, water/wastewater, and commercial facilities.

  • Perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, timber, cold-formed steel structures, foundations, and equipment supports.

  • Prepare engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, resources, and construction administration activities.

  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and construction progress to ensure quality and compliance.

  • Utilize BIM, Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and structural analysis software to develop coordinated designs.

  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams.

  • Mentor junior staff, resolve project challenges, and maintain high standards of engineering excellence and professional integrity.
