The Role • Operate heavy equipment, including hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders, to efficiently move shipping containers within an intermodal yard. • Load and unload shipping containers from railcars and trucks, ensuring accurate and safe handling. • Drive hostlers to precisely position containers and chassis for optimal workflow. • Stack, move, and organize containers in designated areas of the yard. • Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to guarantee safety and functionality. • Coordinate with yard personnel and supervisors to manage daily logistics and task execution. What You'll Need • A valid driver's license is a mandatory requirement for this position. • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders/stairs. • Strong attention to detail and a robust commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including night shifts (2nd or 3rd), holidays, and weekends as determined by seniority. • Basic communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
