ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a Product Owner to support critical business transformation and financial crime initiatives across multiple consumer banking platforms. In this contract role, you will partner closely with product, business, engineering, and operations teams to drive delivery of high-impact technology solutions focused on fraud prevention, identity and access management, authentication, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities. You will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into actionable requirements, maintaining and prioritizing product backlogs, and helping engineering teams deliver solutions that improve customer experience and strengthen fraud controls. WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Partner with business, technology, and transformation teams to define and prioritize product roadmaps and delivery objectives.
• Own and manage product backlogs, ensuring user stories are clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for sprint execution.
• Write and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements within Jira.
• Facilitate backlog grooming, sprint planning, and cross-functional product discussions.
• Work closely with engineering teams to remove roadblocks and keep delivery efforts moving efficiently.
• Support initiatives related to fraud detection and mitigation, authentication, consumer identity access management, digital banking experiences, and data platforms or fraud data repositories.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across product, operations, technology, compliance, and risk organizations.
• Track product progress, manage dependencies, identify risks, and monitor delivery milestones.
• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and validate delivered functionality meets business objectives.
• Leverage data and stakeholder feedback to inform product decisions and drive continuous improvement.
• Support multiple initiatives simultaneously, ensuring alignment with business transformation and fraud prevention goals.

WHAT YOU BRING

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or related role.
• Experience in banking, financial services, fintech, or highly regulated industries.
• Exposure to fraud prevention, financial crimes, identity management, authentication, or risk management initiatives.
• Experience supporting digital product, technology product, or enterprise transformation programs.
• Experience supporting Agile delivery teams.
• Proficiency with Jira and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to gather requirements and translate business needs into user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working closely with software engineering teams and technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Familiarity with data-driven products, data platforms, or AI/ML-enabled solutions (preferred).
• Understanding of consumer banking products and customer journeys (preferred).
• Experience working with Java-based application teams or data-focused product teams (preferred).
• Knowledge of consumer banking operations, deposits, lending, or digital banking platforms (preferred).
