Title:  Lead Developer

Contract: Ongoing contract

Location: Remote

Description
Job Must Haves:

  • Hands-on Python experience
  • Agentic AI experience
  • Ability to independently own architecture and development
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Job Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude)
  • Familiarity with Vue.js or React
  • Experience with AWS/Google Cloud Platform

About the Position / Current Initiatives:

Background: Development team has grown from roughly 50 to 150, with a goal of 200. Recent internal reorganization moved the team under IT, resulting in leadership changes and developer turnover.

Technical Stack: Python (primary), Vue.js preferred (React acceptable), APIs/microservices, AWS/Google Cloud Platform. Historically AWS, but all new development is on Google Cloud Platform.

AI Expectations: Heavy emphasis on leveraging AI to increase development velocity. AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude) are a minimum expectation, along with hands-on agentic AI experience and building agents.

Leadership: Must remain hands-on while owning architecture decisions, mentoring developers, and delivering solutions independently.
