Location: Hybrid (Local to Denver or NYC area)
Position Summary:
The intern will support the Clinical Programs team by leading a strategic initiative focused on evaluating clinical and financial outcomes of a drug utilization review program. This role offers hands-on experience in healthcare analytics, population health, quality improvement, and managed care operations.
The intern will be responsible for developing and executing a research project. Responsibilities include defining research objectives and methodology, extracting and analyzing healthcare data, interpreting findings, and translating results into actionable insights. The intern will collaborate with Clinical Programs, Analytics, and other cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate program effectiveness, identify opportunities to improve member outcomes, and quantify the value of pharmacy interventions.
A key deliverable of the internship is the development and submission of a research abstract and poster for the Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA) Annual Meeting. The intern will gain experience in research design, healthcare data analysis, and scientific writing.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for adherence to the Judi Health Code of Conduct, including reporting of noncompliance.
- Develop and execute a pharmacy quality or clinical outcomes research project aligned with organizational priorities.
- Partner with Clinical Programs and Analytics teams to define research questions, methodology, and success metrics.
- Collect, validate, and analyze healthcare, clinical, operational, and financial data.
- Identify trends, outcomes, and opportunities for quality improvement and enhanced program performance.
- Create data visualizations, dashboards, and summary reports to communicate findings.
- Prepare a research abstract for submission to the Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA).
- Design and develop a professional scientific research poster for presentation at the PQA Annual Meeting.
- Present project findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and leadership.
- Support additional strategic, clinical, or financial initiatives within the Clinical Programs department as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited MBA program.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyze complex data and communicate findings effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
(Optional) Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in healthcare, pharmacy benefits, managed care, consulting, finance, healthcare analytics, or strategy.
- Familiarity with healthcare claims data, pharmacy benefits, clinical programs, or population health management.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Knowledge of financial modeling and business case development.
