Job description

Verisk’s Catastrophe and Risk Solutions (CRS) seeks a motivated Risk Analyst to support our Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) team across two primary pillars:
1.    Securitization – delivering high-quality analytics for catastrophe bonds and related ILS transactions.
2.    ILS Client Support & Remodeling – maintaining and enhancing key workflows, datasets, and services, including client support, training, remodeling, and event response.

This role combines transaction-driven analytics with direct client-facing responsibilities, offering a unique opportunity to develop expertise at the intersection of catastrophe modeling, re/insurance, and capital markets.

Securitization
•    Perform risk and loss analyses using Verisk catastrophe models to support the structuring and placement of catastrophe bonds and related ILS deals.
•    Produce customized Risk Analysis Reports aligned to transaction terms and client portfolios.
•    Support investor presentations with clear, defensible analytics and narratives.

ILS Client Support & Remodeling
•    Review transaction documents and develop Remodeling Service files used by ILS investors.
•    Provide real-time event support and analytics to inform investor communications.
•    Deliver high-quality service to clients using Verisk models and software: respond to inquiries, troubleshoot workflows, and ensure accurate, complete resolutions.
•    Build and maintain the Catastrophe Bond Database (CBDB) and related analytical tools.
•    Lead client training and enablement sessions.

•    Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g., Mathematics, Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Atmospheric Science).
•    1–3 years of relevant experience in consulting, finance, re/insurance, or analytics.
•    Proficiency in Excel required; experience with SQL, Python, or R preferred.
•    Willingness to occasionally provide support outside normal business hours during peak catastrophe bond activity.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
•    Strong analytical skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
•    Excellent communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for executives, investors, and modelers.
•    Proactive problem solver with sound judgment under time pressure.
•    Familiarity with finance, statistics, re/insurance, or ILS a plus.
