IT Software Engineer - Chicago IL

We are seeking an experienced IT Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java backend development to join a dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and developing enterprise applications, leading distributed teams, and building scalable, highly available solutions in AWS.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain complex Java-based backend applications.

Lead development and provide technical guidance to distributed teams.

Develop and maintain RESTful web services.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and production issues.

Build scalable, highly available, and reliable software solutions.

Participate in architecture discussions and technology evaluations.

Perform integration testing and support user acceptance testing.

Mentor junior developers and promote software development best practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical features.

Participate in DevOps activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

10+ years of experience in Java application development.

Minimum 3+ years of experience leading geographically distributed teams.

Strong experience with Java 17.

Hands-on backend development experience (Required).

Experience developing RESTful APIs.

Strong AWS experience, including:

IAM

Kinesis

DynamoDB

API Services

SQS

SNS

KMS

Strong SQL skills.

Experience with DevOps practices.

Understanding of software architecture and designing highly available systems.
