Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead and coordinate software
development projects across cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for
overseeing the entire project lifecycle-from planning and execution to delivery-while ensuring
alignment with client requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
This role requires strong leadership, clear communication, technical understanding, and excellent
organisational skills to drive efficiency, resolve issues, and deliver high-impact solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Initiation
- Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive project plans including work breakdown structures (WBS), schedules, resource plans, and budgets.
- Conduct project kickoff meetings and establish clear communication protocols with all stakeholders.
- Identify project dependencies, constraints, and assumptions at the outset.
Execution & Delivery
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams including developers, QA engineers, UI/UX designers, business analysts, and DevOps.
- Monitor project progress against plan, tracking milestones and deliverables on a day-today basis.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Manage scope changes through a formal change control process, assessing the impact on timeline, budget, and resources.
- Ensure that all project deliverables meet defined quality standards and client expectations.
- Coordinate UAT (User Acceptance Testing) sessions and manage sign-off processes.
Risk & Issue Management
- Proactively identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain a risk register and issue log, tracking resolution and escalating when necessary.
- Anticipate blockers and resolve conflicts within the team or with external stakeholders swiftly.
- Conduct root cause analysis for project issues and implement corrective actions.
Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
- Manage stakeholder expectations by maintaining transparency around risks, timelines, and deliverables.
- Build and sustain strong client relationships to drive satisfaction and repeat business.
Budget & Resource Management
- Track project budgets, expenditures, and forecasts; flag variances to leadership in a timely manner.
- Manage resource allocation across projects, ensuring optimal utilization without burnout.
- Coordinate with HR and department heads for onboarding/offboarding of project resources.
- Support billing, invoicing, and financial reporting in coordination with the finance team.
Process & Documentation
- Maintain complete and up-to-date project documentation including project charters, plans, SOPs, meeting minutes, and closure reports.
- Ensure adherence to the organization's PMO standards, delivery frameworks, and quality processes.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the PMO team.
- Create post-project reviews and lessons-learned documentation to build organizational knowledge.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture built on accountability and open communication.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and associate project managers.
- Support performance discussions and provide constructive feedback to team members
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology.
- 4-5 years of hands-on experience as a Project Manager in an IT/software company or technology services environment.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering software development or IT infrastructure projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Solid experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies; familiarity with Waterfall and hybrid models is a plus.
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Asana, Trello, MS Project, or equivalents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership and clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, timelines, and resource plans.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and QA processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM certification from PMI.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification.
- Experience working with offshore, nearshore, or geographically distributed teams.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and agile release management.
- Experience managing client-facing projects in domains such as ERP, CRM, web/mobile application development, or IT managed services.
- Knowledge of project governance frameworks and PMO best practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting and documentation.
