Business Analyst - Information & Cyber Security

Working across projects, transformation initiatives and business-as-usual activities, you will contribute throughout the full systems development lifecycle-from business case development and requirements analysis through to testing, implementation, transition and benefits realisation.

This opportunity would suit a well-rounded Business Analyst who combines strong process and requirements expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement skills. Previous Information or Cyber Security experience is highly regarded but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, validation and traceability.
• Facilitate workshops and negotiate scope and requirements with technology, business and vendor stakeholders.
• Analyse and document current-state processes, functions and data flows.
• Design future-state processes using Business Process Modelling and Notation.
• Prepare business needs analyses, business requirements specifications, functional specifications and supporting delivery artefacts.
• Contribute to business cases, benefits identification, cost-benefit analysis and delivery planning.
• Define business rules, data requirements, data migration rules, use cases, wireframes and acceptance criteria.
• Work with delivery teams and third-party vendors to define and implement fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Develop test scenarios and coordinate technical and business production verification.
• Plan and facilitate User Acceptance Testing, including defect identification, root-cause analysis and retesting.
• Support deployment planning, change management, training, operational handover and transition into BAU.
• Develop enduring process, functional and operational documentation.
• Provide accurate work estimates and contribute to project schedules, reporting and presentation materials.
• Peer-review Business Analysis deliverables and support consistent governance, frameworks and quality standards.
• Engage with business stakeholders to assess and understand benefits realised.
• Participate actively in the organisation's Business Analysis community of practice.

Skills and Experience

• Between 3 and 10 years of Business Analysis experience, including business process design.
• Experience working within technology projects, application development or technology operations environments.
• Demonstrated experience across the complete systems development lifecycle, from business case development through to implementation and benefits realisation.
• Strong requirements gathering, process mapping, analysis and documentation capabilities.
• Experience delivering projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience working with third-party suppliers and vendors.
• Strong analytical, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to listen to stakeholder objectives and concerns and translate them into practical solutions.
• Strong written, verbal, consulting and workshop facilitation skills.
• Confidence engaging senior technology and business stakeholders, including Heads of Department, General Managers and C-suite executives.
• Understanding of project and business financial management principles, including OPEX, CAPEX, forecasting, estimating and cost-benefit analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project.

Highly Regarded

• Experience supporting Information and Cyber Security BAU activities, transformation programs or project teams.
• Working knowledge of the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK).
• CCBA, CBAP or Certificate in Cybersecurity Analysis qualifications.
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline.
