Job description

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to design and build custom observability solutions across multi-cloud and cloud-native environments. The role combines frontend and backend engineering with strong expertise in telemetry, monitoring, and SRE practices to deliver unified dashboards, reliable data integrations, and actionable insights into system health and performance.

Key Responsibilities

·       Architect, develop, and maintain custom observability dashboards and portals using React or Angular, with backend services in Python, Go, Java, or Node.js.

·       Design and implement telemetry pipelines using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana, covering metrics, logs, and traces.

·       Integrate log and trace platforms such as OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Loki, Tempo, or Jaeger into a unified observability experience.

·       Integrate cloud-native monitoring services, including Amazon CloudWatch, Azure Monitor/Application Insights, and Google Cloud Monitoring/Logging, as applicable.

·       Build REST APIs and streaming/event-driven ingestion pipelines for time-series and telemetry data.

·       Optimise queries and data models for high-volume time-series data, and enable correlation across metrics, logs, and traces.

·       Define and enforce common tagging and metadata standards across applications, infrastructure, and cloud resources.

·       Implement SLIs, SLOs, and error budget tracking, and support incident management with meaningful alerts and dashboards.

·       Develop and deploy solutions on Kubernetes and containerised platforms, applying distributed systems and resilience patterns.

·       Automate build, test, and deployment through CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and infrastructure as code.

·       Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, cloud, and application teams to gather requirements and deliver observability outcomes.

Required Skills and Experience

·       Observability engineering: Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana, plus log/trace technologies such as OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Loki, Tempo, or Jaeger.

·       Cloud-native monitoring: Experience integrating Amazon CloudWatch, Azure Monitor/Application Insights, and/or Google Cloud Monitoring/Logging.

·       Custom dashboard development: Strong frontend skills in React, Angular, or equivalent, and backend development in Python, Go, Java, or Node.js.

·       Data and integrations: REST APIs, streaming/event-driven ingestion, time-series data, query optimisation, telemetry correlation, and tagging standards.

·       SRE and cloud-native platforms: Working knowledge of SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, incident management, Kubernetes, containers, distributed systems, and resilience patterns.

·       Engineering automation: CI/CD, Git-based development, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and modern deployment practices.

Preferred Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

·       Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and/or Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD).

·       Experience with commercial observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Datadog, New Relic, Splunk) is an advantage.

·       Experience with Terraform, Helm, or GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.

·       Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid environments in an enterprise or consulting setting.

Soft Skills

·       Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, especially in troubleshooting distributed systems.

·       Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

·       Ability to work independently and collaboratively in agile, cross-functional teams.
