Job Description

Client: Texas Department of Transportation
Working Title: Copilot Administrator
Pay Rate: $60 on W2 - no benefits OR 65/hr C2C/1099
Expected Duration: 12 months / 2080 hours (11/2/26 – 11/2/27)
The role is based in Austin and requires onsite presence 4–5 days per week at the TxDOT offices at 6230 E Stassney Ln, 
Austin, TX 78744, during normal work hours of 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Candidates must reside in the Austin area and be 
authorized to work in the U.S. 

Minimum Candidate Characteristics:

  • 5+ years supporting Microsoft 365 in a large enterprise environment, including advanced administration, engineering, or Level 3 support.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on Microsoft cloud automation, Copilot/AI services, Power Platform, or enterprise-integration experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 Copilot, SharePoint Online, Teams, Microsoft Graph, Entra ID, Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Copilot Chat/Cowork, ITIL service practices, and identity/permissions/integration troubleshooting.

Exceptional Candidate Characteristics:

  • Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administration and Power Platform administration experience.
  • Copilot Studio / AI Agent and Microsoft Graph integration experience.
  • ITIL, Microsoft Copilot/AI certifications, and/or Azure Foundry experience.

Role Overview

TxDOT has issued a request for a Copilot Administrator to administer and support Microsoft 365 Copilot and related enterprise AI services. The work centers on Copilot platform administration, Level 3 troubleshooting, Microsoft Graph, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Power Platform, Copilot Studio, AI governance, integrations, and service-health monitoring. Ideal candidates will have deep enterprise Microsoft 365 administration experience plus recent hands-on exposure to Copilot, cloud automation, Power Platform, AI services, or enterprise integrations.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Administer Microsoft 365 Copilot, including licensing, configuration, service health, feature enablement, releases, credit allocation, and operational documentation.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for Copilot issues involving Microsoft Graph grounding, SharePoint/Teams, permissions, agents, connectors, integrations, and Microsoft support escalations.
  • Support AI governance, pilots, production releases, Copilot Studio/Power Platform integrations, service analytics, adoption metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.

Responsibilities:

Copilot Platform Administration

  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 Copilot and related AI services.
  • Manage licensing, configuration, service health, and feature enablement.
  • Evaluate and implement new Copilot capabilities and releases.
  • Maintain service documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Credit allocations and monitoring

Level 3 Technical Support

  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex Copilot incidents.
  • Troubleshoot:
    • Microsoft Graph grounding
    • SharePoint and Teams integrations
    • Permissions and data access issues
    • Agent functionality
    • Connector and integration failures
    • Credit controls and monitoring
  • Manage Microsoft support escalations and root cause analysis.
  • Advanced solutioning for Copilot agent use case enablement

AI Governance & Service Management

  • Participate in AI governance, capability reviews, and release readiness assessments.
  • Support capability intake, pilot programs, production releases, and lifecycle management.
  • Identify operational risks, dependencies, and support requirements.

Identity & Integration Support

  • Partner with IAM, Security, and Architecture teams on access controls and AI integrations.
  • Support Microsoft Graph, SharePoint, PowerBi, Power Platform, and Copilot Studio connectivity.
  • Validate connector configurations and enterprise integrations.

Service Analytics & Adoption

  • Monitor service performance, adoption, and utilization metrics.
  • Support executive reporting and AI value realization efforts.
  • Develop and maintain operational dashboards and service health reporting
