Location: Jersey City, NJ (100% onsite, local candidates preferred)
Employment Type: Contract

About the Role

We’re looking for an IT Infrastructure Assessment Lead / Consultant to support a financial services client. You’ll interview IT infrastructure teams in Brazil and Mexico, review their documentation, and document the current environment. From there, you’ll identify gaps against Global and US standards, assess risks, and develop improvement recommendations and a high-level roadmap.

You don’t need to be a subject matter expert in every infrastructure domain. You’ll coordinate with SMEs across network, server, cloud, security, and ITSM.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and review documentation with IT infrastructure teams in Brazil and Mexico
  • Document the current-state environment
  • Identify gaps against Global and US standards and assess risks
  • Develop improvement recommendations and a high-level roadmap
  • Coordinate with SMEs, meetings, open questions, and action items across multiple countries and organizations
  • Prepare assessment results in Excel and reports or presentations in PowerPoint or Word

Required Skills & Experience (5-8 years in each area)

  • Broad IT infrastructure knowledge across network, server, virtualization, storage, cloud, security, and ITSM
  • Experience with current-state assessments, infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, operations improvement, or roadmap development
  • Strong interviewing and information-gathering skills, including requesting relevant documents and evidence
  • Analytical and documentation skills to organize Current State, Target State, Findings, Gaps, Risks, and Recommendations
  • Deliverable development in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Project coordination across stakeholders, SMEs, and multiple countries
  • Business-level English for meetings, interviews, technical document review, and meeting notes (native-level not required)

Nice to Have

  • Experience in banking, insurance, securities, or another regulated industry
  • Experience with global IT standards, country assessments, or international infrastructure standardization
  • Technical depth in one area, such as network, server, VMware, AWS, database, ITSM, or ServiceNow
  • Experience developing migration plans, improvement roadmaps, or high-level budgets
  • Basic understanding of security, business continuity, disaster recovery, audit, or regulatory requirements
  • Japanese, Spanish, or Portuguese language skills
  • Certifications such as AWS, ITIL, PMP, CCNA, or ServiceNow

Preferred Profile

  • Can structure assumptions and open questions when information is incomplete
  • Knows when and how to involve the right SME
  • Explains technical findings clearly to management and non-technical stakeholders
  • Balances Global standards with local regulations and operational constraints
  • Documents issues objectively, based on facts and risks rather than blame
