Senior Commercetools Developer Node WFH

Expertech is URGENTLY looking for a Senior commercetools Developer to join our clients team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to transition to permanent employment.

This is a hands-on backend-focused role working within a modern composable commerce environment. You'll be responsible for developing and integrating solutions across commercetools, Node.js, APIs and backend services, including building Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layers and working with Vercel.
You'll work across complex ecommerce integrations and have the opportunity to contribute to both B2B and B2C commerce environments.

The role can be performed remotely from anywhere in Australia. Candidates must be based in Australia and have full working rights or other eligible working rights for the duration of the engagement.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial software development experience, ideally within ecommerce or digital commerce environments.
• Hands-on experience with commercetools is highly desirable; strong experience with other ecommerce platforms will also be considered.
• Strong Node.js development experience.
• Experience designing and developing APIs and backend integrations.
• Experience building and working with Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layers.
• Experience working with Vercel and modern cloud-based application architectures.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns, REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Experience working within complex ecommerce or commerce technology ecosystems.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical outcomes.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with developers, architects, product teams and other stakeholders.
• Australian residency and eligible Australian working rights.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience working with commercetools and its APIs and services.
• Experience with React.
• Experience with Next.js.
• Experience working across both B2B and B2C ecommerce environments.
• Experience integrating ecommerce platforms with third-party systems, services and enterprise applications.
• Experience with composable/headless commerce architectures.
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD, cloud and DevOps practices.
• Experience working in large-scale or enterprise ecommerce environments.
