Cloud Engineer - Azure, AI Platforms

Design, deploy and support secure, scalable and operationally efficient Azure cloud environments
Automate cloud platform provisioning, configuration and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code and modern automation tools
Support customers' cloud transformation, migration and modernisation initiatives
Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve cloud platform issues
Develop and improve automation capabilities across cloud operations and platform delivery
Build and maintain cloud platform documentation, operational procedures and knowledge-sharing resources
Collaborate with architects, engineers and customer stakeholders to deliver reliable cloud solutions
Contribute to Azure governance, security, compliance and operational best practices
Support adoption of AI-ready cloud platforms and deployment of AI-related services and capabilities

Requirements

• Proven experience in cloud engineering, cloud operations, platform engineering or infrastructure engineering roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and modern cloud operating environments
• Experience deploying, managing and supporting cloud infrastructure, networking, identity and security services
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation practices
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, C#, JavaScript or similar scripting/programming languages
• Understanding of CI/CD practices, DevOps methodologies and cloud-native ways of working
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues across cloud environments
• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance and operational best practices
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in managed services, consulting or customer-facing technology environments
• Foundational knowledge of AI services and modern AI concepts
• Understanding of Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search or equivalent platforms
• Awareness of retrieval-augmented generation, large language models and AI-driven automation concepts
• Understanding of responsible AI, security and governance considerations
• Interest in developing expertise in AI platform engineering, agentic workflows and AI-enabled cloud services
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline is desirable
• Microsoft Azure or equivalent cloud certifications are desirable

Demonstrates expertise in designing, deploying, and supporting secure Azure cloud environments while automating processes using Infrastructure as Code. Proficient in cloud security, governance, and operational best practices, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
