We're partnering with a leading consulting organisation delivering a major data transformation program for a prominent banking client and are seeking multiple Ab Initio Engineers with strong Kafka and streaming expertise.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on enterprise-scale data platforms, real-time event streaming solutions, and modern integration architectures within a complex banking environment.
The Role
As an Ab Initio Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and supporting high-volume data integration and streaming solutions. Working alongside architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders, you'll help deliver scalable, resilient, and performant data pipelines that underpin critical business capabilities.
Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Ab Initio-based data integration solutions.
• Build and support real-time streaming and event-driven architectures.
• Develop and optimise Kafka-based data pipelines and messaging solutions.
• Design, build, and support large-scale ETL and data transformation processes.
• Collaborate with architects, engineering teams, and client stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance, scalability, and data quality issues.
• Contribute to solution design, technical documentation, and best practices.
• Support delivery within Agile project environments.

Skills & Experience
We're looking for professionals with:

• Strong commercial experience developing with Ab Initio.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and streaming technologies.
• Experience building real-time data integration solutions.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data architectures and ETL frameworks.
• Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Banking or financial services experience highly regarded.
