Maintenance Planner II

Location: Bagdad, AZ Salary: $75,000.00 USD Annually - $100,000.00 USD Annually Description:
About the Role
Our client is seeking a Maintenance Planner II to support maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution activities at their Bagdad operations. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining maintenance schedules, supporting equipment reliability initiatives, managing SAP maintenance data, coordinating resources and materials, and helping ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance planning and scheduling activities in partnership with site supervisors.
• Develop, manage, and optimize maintenance schedules to meet operational and reliability objectives.
• Maintain the integrity of maintenance planning and scheduling data within SAP.
• Review, prioritize, and schedule work orders while supporting daily, weekly, and monthly planning meetings.
• Execute and manage Runtime Forecasting processes for assigned areas.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to junior planners on planning methodologies and company best practices.
• Support supervisors with job preparation, field readiness reviews, materials planning, and execution follow-up.
• Coordinate long-range maintenance planning, shutdown activities, and major project work.
• Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance history records are maintained in SAP.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain teams to manage inventory levels, material availability, and storage requirements.
• Prepare scopes of work and support contract execution for internal and external maintenance services.
• Assist with budget planning, forecasting, and cost management activities.
• Generate KPI reports and maintenance performance metrics for site leadership.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
One of the following combinations of education and experience:
Option 1

• High school diploma or GED, plus
• 6 years of field maintenance experience in mining, manufacturing, or industrial operations, or
• 6 years of maintenance planning experience within mining, manufacturing, or industrial operations.

Option 2

• High school diploma or GED, plus
• 6 years of related field maintenance experience, including at least 4 years of maintenance planning experience.

Option 3

• Associate degree in a technical field and 4 years of related maintenance experience in mining, manufacturing, or industrial operations.

Option 4

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 2 years of related maintenance experience in mining, manufacturing, or industrial operations.

Required Skills

• Understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling processes and workflows.
• Knowledge of mining and/or processing equipment operations and functionality.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of maintenance management systems (SAP preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze maintenance performance data and make scheduling recommendations.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using SAP Plant Maintenance (PM).
• Maintenance planning experience in mining or heavy industrial environments.
• Experience coordinating major shutdowns and turnaround activities.
• Knowledge of equipment reliability and preventive maintenance programs.
• Strong forecasting, budgeting, and reporting experience.
