This is a hands-on technical delivery role, working across a variety of cloud projects and managed service engagements. You will be involved throughout the Azure lifecycle, from initial discovery and technical design through to implementation, migration, optimisation and ongoing support.

You will bring strong Azure infrastructure knowledge and practical delivery experience, helping customers build secure, scalable and well-managed cloud environments while providing technical advice and guidance throughout their cloud journey.

As an Azure Infrastructure Engineer, you will:

  • Implement and support Azure monitoring, governance and security capabilities using services such as Azure Monitor, Azure Policy and Log Analytics.
  • Use Infrastructure as Code and automation technologies, including Bicep and ARM templates, to support efficient and repeatable deployments.
  • Apply Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Framework (WAF) principles when designing and delivering Azure environments.
  • Maintain and evolve Azure solutions and service levels within managed service customer environments.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues across Azure and associated hybrid infrastructure, identifying appropriate resolutions and improvements.
  • Produce clear and high-quality technical documentation and solution artefacts.
  • Work directly with customers to understand technical requirements and provide practical advice and guidance.
  • Collaborate with Engineers, Consultants and Architects across the wider team to deliver effective end-to-end solutions.
  • Build strong customer relationships through high-quality technical delivery and professional advice.
  • Keep up to date with developments across Microsoft Azure and wider cloud technologies, applying relevant best practice and new capabilities where appropriate.
  • Strong hands-on experience designing, deploying and supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience delivering Azure infrastructure across project and/or managed service environments.
  • Experience planning and delivering migrations from on-premises or cloud environments into Microsoft Azure.
  • Practical experience with Azure migration technologies such as Azure Migrate and Azure Site Recovery (ASR).
  • Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure services including Virtual Machines, Virtual Networking, VPNs, Azure Backup, Azure SQL, Storage and App Services.
  • Experience with Azure monitoring, governance and security capabilities, including Azure Monitor, Azure Policy and Log Analytics.
  • Experience with Azure automation and Infrastructure as Code, including Bicep and/or ARM templates. Good understanding of Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Framework (WAF) principles.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, virtualisation and on-premises infrastructure and how these integrate with Azure.
  • Experience producing clear, high-quality technical documentation and solution artefacts.
  • Good understanding of modern delivery approaches and methodologies, including Agile and DevOps.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across cloud and infrastructure environments.
  • Good customer-facing and communication skills, with the ability to understand requirements and provide clear technical advice.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider technical delivery team.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with a proactive approach to learning and keeping up to date with evolving cloud technologies.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-700, AZ-500, AZ-140 or other relevant Azure certifications.
  • Experience working within consultancy or customer-facing technical delivery environments.
