Driver Training Manager

As a Driver Training Manager - Paratransit & Transit, you lead hiring, onboarding, and training for vehicle operators. You deliver classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction in defensive driving, passenger assistance, ADA and FTA requirements, emergency procedures, and local service knowledge. You maintain training records, monitor program effectiveness, coordinate with operations and safety leaders, support compliance, and may perform operator, safety, or road supervisor duties when needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage and continuously improve the vehicle operator training program, including new hire, refresher, remedial, and in service training.
• Deliver classroom and behind the wheel instruction in defensive driving, passenger assistance, ADA/FTA requirements, and emergency procedures.
• Recruit and hire drivers by managing application flow, interviews, pre employment drug tests, background checks, and onboarding documentation.
• Maintain complete and compliant training, qualification, and personnel records for operators and training activities.
• Coordinate cadet schedules and training with operations leadership and oversee subcontractor training for consistency and compliance.
• Monitor training effectiveness and operator performance, recommending updates to materials, methods, and safety practices.
• Serve as backup Safety Manager and perform Road Supervisor or operator duties when needed to support service continuity.
