Job Description

Position: PowerBuilder Developer
Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract
Interview Process: Video Only
 
About the Role
We are seeking a PowerBuilder to provide backup support for a banking application environment. The developer will primarily support the FIIS application, which is built in PowerBuilder, while also providing support for other applications developed in .NET.
The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and collaboratively, communicate effectively, adapt to changing priorities, and follow established development standards and procedures.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide production system administration, maintenance, and technical support.
  • Support the FIIS PowerBuilder application and other .NET applications.
  • Translate formal business and technical requirements into database and application solutions.
  • Design, develop, modify, test, debug, and implement applications.
  • Respond to system alerts and user issues, investigate problems, and recommend solutions.
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolve production issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Follow coding standards, development policies, procedures, and review processes.
  • Fully document completed work and provide knowledge transfer to other team members.
  • Perform other related technical duties as required.
Required Skills
  • Strong PowerBuilder development and application support experience.
  • Experience with .NET application development and support.
  • Experience with production support, troubleshooting, and system maintenance.
  • Strong database and programming skills.
  • Experience with application testing, debugging, and implementation.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
