POSITION SUMMARY
The job description for the position of Sales Engineer in Springfield, OH at Konecranes highlights the company's commitment to providing excellent customer experience through its dedicated team. RESPONSIBILITIES

Proposal Preparation:
Develop commercial and technical proposals for overhead material handling equipment across various industrial environments like power plants, manufacturing, steel mills, and pulp and paper mills.

Distributor Requirements Analysis

Establish and analyze distributor requirements, considering the physical environment, industrial processes, and required specifications such as load types, handling precision, safety features, control types, capacity, and design standards.

Solution Design

Design material handling solutions like overhead cranes, jib cranes, monorails, and workstations to meet application requirements using technical knowledge and understanding of product constraints.

Component Specification and Selection

Establish specifications for sizing and selecting components, using proprietary software, manuals, and engineering judgment to ensure appropriateness.

Proposal Formalization

Prepare and edit CAD drawings, technical documentation, and pricing for customer proposals.

Order Processing

Enter new equipment orders into the MRP system, accurately inputting data based on distributor requirements.

Warranty and Field Modifications

Resolve product warranty issues, design field modifications, troubleshoot components, and identify spare parts, occasionally traveling to customer sites.

Technical and Commercial Proposals

Prepare proposals for field modifications, spare parts, and services, and recommend spare parts packages.

Training Coordination

Conduct service, technical, and sales training for distributors, participate in developing training programs, and cover topics like preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.

Documentation Preparation

Prepare technical and commercial documentation, including specifications, manuals, product descriptions, sales literature, and contracts.

Inquiry Response

Respond to inquiries from the sales force and distributors regarding product specifications and applications, provide feedback, and stay informed about competitor offerings and industry standards.

Customer Service

Achieve industry-leading customer service through professional communication, accurate order processing, and timely problem resolution.

Other Duties

Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of material handling equipment and industrial applications.

Proficiency in interpreting specifications and making technical suggestions.

Problem-Solving Skills

Ability to troubleshoot electrical/mechanical components and resolve warranty issues.
Skill in designing field modifications and identifying spare parts.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with distributors and sales force.
Ability to prepare comprehensive technical and commercial proposals and documentation.

Customer Service Orientation

Competence in accurately processing orders and maintaining clerical accuracy.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification is required. A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in application or sales engineering within an industrial environment. Candidates must possess well-developed PC skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. The ability to address multiple issues simultaneously and work well under pressure is necessary.
