Aluminum Welding Trainer

Prince Service & Manufacturing is looking for ethical, customer-focused, flexible, and selfless problem solvers. The Aluminum Welding Trainer delivers hands-on welding training on the production floor to apprentices, new hires, and current employees, so they can work safely, efficiently, and to company standards. The trainer works with Operations, HR, Supervisors, Training, and Quality to keep training consistent, close skill gaps, and uphold safety and quality expectations. The trainer is also a role model on the floor, showing professionalism, safe work habits, and a positive attitude.

Location/Schedule: Macon, GA / 1st shift 

What You’ll Do: 

Training & Development 

• Train apprentices and new hires on aluminum welding job duties, safety protocols, standard work procedures, and company expectations. 
• Provide hands-on, one-on-one, and small-group instruction and coaching so employees can perform assigned work to company standards. 
• Demonstrate proper aluminum welding techniques and correct operation of welding equipment, tools, and related materials. 
• Partner with Supervisors to identify training needs, skill gaps, and opportunities for improvement. 
• Recommend additional training, refresher training, or process changes when appropriate. 
• Maintain accurate training records, including skills covered, employee progress, completion status, and identified concerns. 
• Give trainees ongoing feedback, and report their progress, readiness for independent work, performance concerns, and skill gaps to the Training Coordinator and Supervisors. 
• Support consistent use of training methods and standard work practices across the production floor. 

Aluminum Welding & Production 

• Perform aluminum welding duties and support production activities as needed while keeping up training responsibilities. 
• Use MIG welding knowledge for aluminum. 
• Ensure work follows work instructions, specifications, quality requirements, and company standards. 
• Coordinate with Quality to confirm work meets required standards and is ready for final sign-off. 

Safety & Compliance 

• Reinforce proper PPE use and safe work practices, and make sure employees understand and follow safety procedures before performing assigned work. 
• Address unsafe acts or conditions immediately and notify management when needed. 
• Maintain awareness of hazards associated with aluminum welding, including hot materials, sparks, fumes, equipment, elevated work, and confined spaces. 
• Comply with all applicable OSHA requirements and company safety policies. 
• Serve as a positive safety role model for employees. 

Who You Are: 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

• Strong technical knowledge of aluminum welding and fabrication processes, including MIG, and of the materials used in aluminum welding operations. 
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and specifications. 
• Strong attention to detail. 
• Excellent communication, listening, and coaching skills, including the ability to give constructive feedback professionally. 
• Ability to work effectively with employees of varying experience levels and backgrounds. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. 

Experience & Education 

• 3–5 years of aluminum welding and fabrication experience preferred. 
• Previous experience training, mentoring, or coaching employees required. 
• High school diploma or GED preferred. 
• Technical school, aluminum welding certification, or other formal welding education is a plus. 
• Must pass a company weld qualification test and a tape measure test.
