Systems Engineering Section Lead/Manager (Hybrid)

This is a dual role where you will serve as player-coach, where some of your time is allocated to being a manager of engineers and part of your time as a technical contributor/lead. This balance enables you to work on programs and manage your team.
Roles and Responsibilities (Section Lead):
Within the Systems Engineering Section, you will manage a team of engineers. As the section manager of systems engineers, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Recruit, retain, train, recognize and develop systems engineers to achieve their highest potential in alignment with the business needs
• Assign team members as appropriate to programs, IRADs and proposals
• Develop individual and group goals and objectives
• Communicate flow-down company, business area and discipline information
• Mentor careers by development of career and training plans
• Ensure group members adhere to BAE Systems' cultural principals, policies and vision

Roles and Responsibilities (Technical Contributor/Leader):
As a technical contributor/leader, you will be involved in the full systems lifecycle from requirements, algorithm, software and hardware development through integration and testing. Duties include:

• Providing system engineering content and work products, which includes developing the requirements baseline, design, integration and fielding of this capability.
• Utilizing digital engineering and model-based systems engineering
• Provides support to the EVMS including budgeting, reporting and task assignments.
• Interface with Systems Engineering and Software Development Teams
• Implementing Integration and test to validate requirements
• Problem/anomaly reporting, tracking and resolution
• Supports field test preparation and performance
• Proposal preparation including technical and cost.

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Active Top Secret security clearance and eligible to acquire additional SCI and SAP/SAR clearances
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science with a minimum work experience of:
  • 12+ Years with BS
  • 10+ Years with MS
  • 8+ Year with PHD
• Experience as a Functional Manager
• Leadership skills and experience directing and mentoring engineers on complex programs
• Expert in effectively documenting, communicating, leading and working with a team on designs, results, reports, and presentations including SRR, PDR and CDR development
• Experience performing systems engineering activities across the development cycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test)
• Experience developing viable concept solutions, identifying and tracking technical risks, and leading technical teams
• System design experience and product development (System V diagram)
• Familiarity with RF/SIGINT applications
• Strong skill in people management and team collaboration within systems engineering and across disciplines
• Able to evaluate root cause and timely decision making
• Able to lead a team to adapt to changes effectively

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• M.S. or PHD in related technical field
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
• Experience with technical performance measurements and cost account management.
• Experience with RF/SIGINT system development and test
• Experience with Agile development

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $149603 - $254317
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
