Job Description:
Our Essex County, NJ SaaS client is seeking a Senior Azure Network & Security Engineer to help build and modernize complex network infrastructure spanning Azure, on-premises, and hybrid cloud environments. This role will be a key technical contributor to cloud transformation initiatives, with responsibility for Azure networking, network security, routing, and automation. The successful candidate will bring extensive enterprise networking experience along with hands-on expertise in modern cloud environments. This individual will also provide technical guidance, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor other engineers. Ideally this person will be a seasoned network engineer who has evolved beyond traditional data center environments and has applied that expertise to Azure, cloud security, hybrid networking, and automation.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and deploy secure networking solutions across Azure, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Develop scalable network architectures supporting enterprise applications, infrastructure, and users.
• Configure and optimize routing technologies including BGP, OSPF, MP-BGP, VXLAN, EVPN, and network overlays.
• Implement and support network security technologies including firewalls, VPNs, proxies, NAC, and segmentation.
• Support load balancing, CDN, traffic management, and related application delivery technologies.
• Identify opportunities to automate network configuration, provisioning, deployment, and operational processes.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex networking and security issues.
• Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, security, application, and architecture teams to develop and deliver technical solutions.
• Evaluate new technologies through proofs of concept, lab testing, and technical evaluations.
• Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, standards, diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Provide technical mentorship and help establish engineering best practices.

• 10+ years of enterprise networking and/or network security engineering experience, including architecture and design.
• Significant hands-on experience with Azure networking and cloud infrastructure.
• Advanced understanding of BGP and OSPF, including experience with MP-BGP, VXLAN, EVPN, and network overlays.
• Strong experience with firewalls, VPNs, proxies, NAC, and network segmentation.
• Background in data center networking, virtual networking, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Familiarity with load balancing, CDNs, and application delivery technologies.
• Strong knowledge of network architecture, security, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Experience using packet analysis, flow data, telemetry, and monitoring tools to diagnose complex network issues.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide technical leadership and influence architectural decisions.

• Experience with network automation using Ansible and/or Python.
• Industry certifications such as Cisco, Arista, CISSP, or comparable credentials.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
