Position Overview
IBSS is seeking a Windows Administrator to support a Federal customer's on-premises and Azure-hosted Windows Server infrastructure. This individual performs day-to-day systems engineering and administration for Microsoft Windows Servers, patch management, 3rd-tier problem resolution, and security/vulnerability remediation, and supports Azure-based VDI and VPN environment, and systems documentation.

Key Responsibilities (Required)

  • Provide systems engineering and administration for Microsoft Windows Servers, both on-premises and in Microsoft Azure.
  • Perform day-to-day operational management of servers and application administration, including version upgrades.
  • Perform capacity planning for Windows Server systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Support systems design and architecture activities, including optimization and virtualization.
  • Install, configure, provision, and manage Azure resources; perform patch management via Azure Patch Management, WSUS, and SCCM.
  • Maintain Software Configuration Management (SCM) for Windows Server systems.
  • Support change and configuration management for applications and databases hosted on Windows Server.
  • Maintain systems documentation for Windows Server infrastructure.
  • Support IT applications, database, and server security, including vulnerability remediation.
  • Support incident response activities.
  • Support Azure VDI environment and VPN access via Microsoft Azure.
  • Manage Windows Server configurations, software installations, and system updates.
  • Conduct regular security reviews and compliance checks within the Azure environment.
  • Monitor and report network/systems vulnerabilities and trends at least monthly.
  • Assist with annual system Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) activities.

Additional Responsibilities (Preferred / Nice To Have)

  • Automate cloud deployments and assist with managing cloud infrastructure.
  • Monitor cloud services for performance, cost, and security.
  • Coordinate with development teams on system requirements and deployments.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Professional experience administering Microsoft Windows Server systems in both on-premises and Azure environments.
  • 4 years of experience providing Windows and Azure administrative support.
  • Experience with patch management tools/processes (WSUS, SCCM, or Azure Patch Management).
  • Experience with systems/application change and configuration management.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure in a Federal operations and maintenance (O&M) environment.
  • Active Secret Clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications such as Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104).
  • Experience supporting Department of Commerce or other federal civilian agency IT environments.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with federal Authorization and Accreditation (A&A)/Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
  • Linux systems administration experience.
  • Experience supporting Continuity of Operations (COOP)/Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
