Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to act as a technical representative across two key project sites in Germany and Spain. This role will support technical review, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and commissioning activities, working closely alongside an existing team member.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the client-side technical representative across both project locations
  • Conduct and support technical reviews of externally delivered system designs
  • Lead and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
  • Support on-site commissioning activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery
  • Provide senior-level engineering oversight and decision-making
  • Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Senior Automation/Control Systems Engineer
  • Strong working knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC systems
  • Experience working with externally delivered automation systems
  • Demonstrated experience in FAT and commissioning
  • Background in the chemical industry and batch production environments
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating with wider teams
  • Willingness to travel regularly between Germany and Spain
  • German and/or Spanish language skills
  • Previous experience working across multiple European project sites

  • The contractor can be based locally to Germany or Yorkshire, with travel required to both project locations
