Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Desktop / Technical Support Analyst to join the Department of Veterans Services (DVS) supporting the Puller Veterans Care Center (PVCC) in Warrenton, VA, along with satellite Veterans Benefits offices across Northern Virginia (NOVA). This role provides end-to-end IT administration, network support, hardware maintenance, and troubleshooting for over 200 medical facility IT assets.

  • Client: Virginia Department of Veterans Services (VDVS)
  • Location: Warrenton, VA 20187 (6951 Vint Hill Parkway)
  • Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite (Occasional local travel required to satellite offices in Northern Virginia; travel reimbursed)
  • Role Type: Contract (6 Months with extension potential)
  • Interview Process: Initial Virtual Webcam Interview, followed by a mandatory IN-PERSON follow-up interview
  • Requirements: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable personal vehicle, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and clear Virginia State Police background check.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hardware & Device Support: Deploy, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain PC desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, peripheral equipment, and AV presentation systems.
  • Network & Infrastructure Maintenance: Monitor network performance; set up, manage, and resolve issues for routers, switches, wireless access points, and LAN/WAN protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Software & Endpoint Security: Install, administer, and troubleshoot Windows OS, Microsoft O365, Google Workspace, McAfee Anti-Virus software, and Adobe Acrobat products.
  • Mobile & Telephony Administration: Configure, deploy, and support iOS/Android mobile devices, alongside digital and analog telephone systems.
  • Asset & Inventory Management: Maintain accurate IT inventory logs, document system configurations, track service desk tickets, and deliver end-user IT training.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Commercial Software Support: 3+ years of experience administering commercial software suites, specifically including McAfee Anti-Virus, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft O365 (must be highlighted in resume work history).
  • Desktop & Peripheral Support: 3+ years configuring and repairing Windows PCs, laptops, network printers, and presentation/AV equipment.
  • Mobile & Phone Systems: 3+ years setting up and troubleshooting mobile devices (iOS/Android) and office phone systems.
  • Networking & Infrastructure: Practical knowledge of network hardware (switches, routers, WAPs) and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Documentation & Service Desk: 3+ years creating clear technical documentation, training end-users, and managing ticketing systems.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical movements (bending, reaching, walking, lifting).
