Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Python ETL Developer based in India.

This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the development and modernization of enterprise data applications within a collaborative technology environment. As a Python ETL Developer, you will help build and maintain data integration systems, supporting client onboarding and reference data management. You will work with Python, PySpark, SQL, and Oracle technologies to develop reliable data processing solutions. A key part of the role involves contributing to a strategic migration from Ab Initio to Python and helping establish the supporting ETL architecture. You will collaborate with global application development and operations teams to ensure seamless data integration. The position also includes ongoing maintenance and production support, making it well suited to an experienced developer who enjoys solving technical challenges and improving data workflows.

Accountabilities

    • Develop, enhance, and maintain applications and systems within the EMC ETL stream.

    • Support client onboarding processes and manage reference data domain tables.

    • Collaborate with global application development teams, operations teams, and business partners to integrate application data successfully.

    • Contribute to the strategic migration from Ab Initio to Python, including the setup and development of the ETL architecture.

    • Perform unit testing and maintain appropriate technical documentation in accordance with application development standards.

    • Work closely with onsite and remote colleagues to ensure consistent development practices and implementation approaches.

    • Provide ongoing application maintenance and Level 3 (L3) production support.

    • Participate in application systems analysis, programming activities, and the implementation of new or revised systems.

      • Requirements:

      • Bachelor's degree, university degree, or equivalent practical experience.

      • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in application development or data engineering.

      • Strong programming skills in Python and PySpark.

      • Good knowledge of SQL and Oracle databases.

      • Experience working in Unix environments.

      • Familiarity with Autosys for job scheduling and workflow automation.

      • Knowledge of Kubernetes and its role in application deployment and management.

      • Understanding of ETL development and data processing concepts.

      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global and distributed teams.

      • Ability to work collaboratively, maintain development standards, and contribute to reliable application delivery.
