Quick Overview
Job Description
About Duvo
Before Duvo, our founders built and ran a $2 billion retailer. They saw how much critical work still depended on spreadsheets, inboxes, supplier portals and the memory of experienced operators. The real process rarely lived in one system. People held the last mile together.
Duvo is building the Enterprise Execution OS: the shared layer that understands how work really runs, carries it across existing systems and measures the business result.
Our agents do the work, not just suggest the next step. They gather evidence, make decisions within agreed rules, route exceptions to the right person and update the source system. People keep control wherever judgment or approval is needed. Every action leaves an audit trail.
We start with one recurring process and a clear outcome. Every solution carries a contracted 5x ROI guarantee.
The role
As a Junior Transformation Strategist, you are the insight and output engine beside our Transformation Strategists on our largest accounts.
On bigger engagements we need more than technical delivery. We need someone who can take a messy process, find the critical question, get to a clear insight fast, and put it into materials a customer team will act on. Today that work often lands on Forward Deployed Engineers. That is the wrong use of a scarce technical resource. This role exists so that insight work has a dedicated owner.
You will work alongside Transformation Strategists (who own day-to-day account presence and workstream direction) and Forward Deployed Engineers (who own the technical solution). You do not own the executive relationship or the commercial outcome. You own the speed and quality of the analytical and written work that makes those conversations possible.
This is a fungible problem-solving role. You will be thrown at different accounts and different problem types (category, supply chain, finance ops, inventory, commercial) and expected to produce. Ideal for someone currently ~2–4 years into a client-facing career as an Associate, Senior Associate, or Consultant at McKinsey or BCG who wants concentrated ownership, not another staffing cycle.
We want to hire two people into this role quickly.
What you will do
1. Get to the insight
Dive into how work actually happens: interviews, extracts, handoffs, exceptions and the workarounds people use to keep things running.
Build a fact base that shows where cost, cash, service, cycle time or control is being lost.
Form a hypothesis early, name what would kill it, and pressure-test it with the Transformation Strategist before you polish anything.
Structure unfamiliar problems without waiting for a perfect brief. Frame the selection equation (what matters, what does not) so the team and the customer can decide.
2. Deliver output that moves a decision
Turn analysis into decision-ready slides, one-pagers and memos that make the important choice obvious.
Be exact about baselines, assumptions and evidence. Do not use polish to hide uncertainty.
Work fast: same-day or next-day turnarounds on defined asks are the norm, not the exception.
Produce materials a Transformation Strategist can take into a working session or steerco with minimal rewrite.
3. Be fungible surge capacity on big accounts
Plug into multiple live enterprise accounts as extra hands where the Transformation Strategist needs analytical depth.
Jump between problem types without needing a long ramp each time.
Keep a clean trail of actions, open questions and evidence so work can be handed between you, the Transformation Strategist and the FDE without loss.
Surface blockers early; do not sit on ambiguity hoping it resolves.
4. Build the evidence for impact
Help lock baseline, target and measurement window before implementation.
Quantify results in language a CFO would trust (revenue, margin, cost, working capital, cycle time, control), not activity counts or sentiment.
Investigate misses as carefully as wins, and turn both into clear evidence packs the Transformation Strategist can use upstairs.
5. Stay close to the customer team (working level)
Own relationships with operators and mid-level owners who live the process day to day.
Prepare working sessions, capture decisions and follow commitments through.
Know when a question needs a senior call and escalate early rather than bluffing.
You will not own commercial negotiations, board-level relationships or technical build. You will own the craft and pace of the insight work that makes those outcomes possible.
Skills and capabilities we will assess
These are explicit. We will hire against them.
Structured problem solving. Hypothesis-driven. You can take an unfamiliar operation apart, find the critical question, write a kill criterion, and give a clear recommendation without hiding behind a framework.
Analytical speed and numeracy. Comfortable with messy data and incomplete information. You build analyses that are concise, correct and decision-ready under time pressure.
Written and slide craft. Your decks and memos are tight. First page says the answer. Evidence follows. A partner or Transformation Strategist can use your output with light edit, not a rewrite.
Insight generation. You do not stop at describing the process. You find where value is lost and what to change first.
Fungibility. You can be dropped onto a new account or a new problem type and produce within days, not weeks.
Delivery bias. You stay after the framing is done. You follow actions through. You notice what is not working and help fix it.
Customer judgment at working level. You listen well, ask a direct question and communicate clearly with operators and managers. You know when to escalate.
AI-native personal workflow. You use AI seriously to accelerate research, analysis and drafting, and you remain responsible for the quality of what goes in front of a customer.
Early-stage working style. You move without perfect instructions, write in plain English and surface bad news early.
Who we are looking for
Currently an Associate, Senior Associate or Consultant (or equivalent) at McKinsey or BCG, typically ~2–4 years of core, client-facing consulting experience. Bain and other top strategy firms can fit if the craft is the same.
A track record of producing high-quality analyses and slides that partners and clients actually used to decide.
Evidence you can work quickly without sacrificing rigor.
Comfort operating as surge capacity across problems rather than owning a single long study end to end alone.
Helpful but not required: retail, CPG, supply chain, logistics, inventory or finance operations exposure; prior startup or early-stage experience.
What good looks like after 12 months
Transformation Strategists on our largest accounts treat you as the person they call when they need a sharp fact base, a clean deck or a second pair of eyes on an insight, within hours not days.
You have supported multiple accounts and problem types without losing quality.
At least one measured process change carries analysis and evidence you built.
Your templates, diagnostics and slide patterns are reused by the next Junior Transformation Strategist.
FDEs on those accounts spend their time on technical delivery, not insight decks.
This role is not for you if
You want to own the C-level relationship, commercial negotiation or full transformation roadmap from day one. That is the Transformation Strategist / Senior path.
You only enjoy the framing phase and lose interest once the work becomes detailed.
You need perfectly clean data, a large analyst team or complete instructions before you can make progress.
You see slides as the final product rather than a tool to help a customer decide and act.
You want to build automations or live in the technical weeds. That is the Forward Deployed Engineer role.
You want a narrow, single-account BA role with little variety or visible accountability.
Why leave McKinsey or BCG for this
Your insight work lands in live enterprise operations with a contracted 5x ROI, not in a forgotten sharepoint.
You sit beside Transformation Strategists and FDEs on real accounts, so you see recommendation through to adoption.
You get concentrated ownership of analytical craft instead of being staffed for utilization.
Direct access to founders, customers and decisions in a small team.
Competitive compensation and meaningful equity, with flexibility between cash and ownership.
A clear path: strong Juniors become Transformation Strategists who own day-to-day account momentum.
How we work
Own it. The bar is not “I flagged it.” It is “I moved it forward.” An 80% fix today often beats a perfect answer next week.
Stay close to the customer. Know their real day better than the process document.
Prove it and say it straight. Measure before you propose. Share bad news when you have it.
Use AI and work in public. We use AI on our own work and remain responsible for the output. We write things down in English so someone who missed the meeting can still follow.
Bring intensity and judgment. A good answer can still lose if it arrives too late. The pace is high because the team is small and the customer work is live.
Location and travel
This role is UK-based. You will need to be living in the UK, or relocating there before you start, and able to travel to client sites from there. Expect regular travel and periods on site with customers for several days in a week when projects are live.
What we offer
Competitive compensation and meaningful equity, with flexibility in the balance between cash and ownership.
Direct access to founders, customers and decisions.
The budget and autonomy to use the best AI tools available.
A product already producing measured results in live enterprise operations.
The chance to build a career at the intersection of consulting, operations and AI-led transformation.
How we hire
We respect your time and move fast:
Screening call.
Hiring manager interview. Fit on problem-solving craft, pace and whether this is the right altitude for you.
Case study panel. A live enterprise problem that tests structure, numbers, prioritisation and clear communication (including slide / written output).
CEO interview. A candid discussion about the role, Duvo and whether this is the environment for you.
We move quickly and give direct feedback throughout.
