Senior F5 Network Engineer

Leidos is seeking a Senior F5 Network Engineer to design, secure, and optimize F5-based application delivery for mission-critical government and commercial systems. You will architect and manage F5 BIG-IP (LTM, GTM/DNS, ASM/Advanced WAF, APM), troubleshoot complex L3-L7 issues, and integrate with enterprise and cloud networks. In this collaborative, mission-driven role, you'll partner with cyber, application, and infrastructure teams to deliver highly available, secure services while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to automation and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize F5 BIG-IP configurations to support secure, highly available enterprise and government systems
• Manage and tune F5 LTM, GTM/DNS, ASM/Advanced WAF, and APM for performance, scalability, and security
• Integrate F5 solutions with firewalls, load balancers, identity providers, and cloud/network infrastructure
• Troubleshoot complex Layer 3-7 traffic issues, performing root-cause analysis and documenting resolutions
• Automate configuration management and deployments using scripts and infrastructure-as-code tools
• Harden F5 platforms following security best practices and customer, Do
• D, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with cyber, network, and application teams to support mission-critical programs
• Create and maintain technical designs, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
• Support on-call/after-hours changes and incident response for high-priority systems
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of network services
