Job description

A well-established senior living community in Colorado is seeking a compassionate, dependable QMAP to join its resident care team. In this role, you will safely administer medications, support residents with daily living, and serve as a trusted set of eyes and ears for the nursing team. If you take pride in getting the details right and treating residents like family, this is a place where your work will be noticed and valued.

What You Will Do

Medication Administration

  • Administer medications only as directed by a current written order from an authorized practitioner and within the scope of QMAP authority
  • Follow all medication administration policies, procedures, and Colorado regulatory requirements
  • Document every medication pass accurately and on time
  • Promptly report refusals, errors, suspected reactions, and changes in condition to the QMAP Supervisor, Administrator, or nursing leadership

Resident Care and Daily Living

  • Assist residents with bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, oral care, nail care, and personal hygiene while encouraging independence
  • Help with toileting and incontinence care, keeping residents clean, dry, and comfortable
  • Support mealtimes by verifying diet orders, serving trays and nourishments, assisting with feeding, and keeping fresh water available
  • Respond promptly to call lights and settle residents for rest and for the night with call bells within reach
  • Escort residents to activities, therapy, meals, and other areas of the community
  • Support restorative care and teach residents to use self-help techniques and medical appliances

Observation, Safety, and Clinical Support

  • Take and record vital signs and intake and output measurements
  • Observe and report changes in physical condition, behavior, mood, and appetite
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, isolation care, and end-of-life care
  • Use aseptic technique and infection control practices in all care
  • Use safety devices correctly and follow all safety precautions; report any work-related injury to your supervisor right away

Team and Environment

  • Keep resident rooms and care areas clean and orderly, including bed making and unit cleaning not covered by housekeeping
  • Welcome and assist families, visitors, and guests
  • Complete required reports and communicate clearly with LPNs, RNs, and the Director of Nursing
  • Protect resident confidentiality and follow community policies at all times

Work Environment

This role is based in a clean, well-lit community and involves frequent time in resident rooms, hallways, and dining areas. The pace can change quickly, with noise and interruptions, so attentiveness and adaptability are key. The work includes regular lifting, bending, and twisting. Team members are expected to present a professional appearance and demeanor.

What You Bring

Required

  • Successful completion of an approved QMAP training program and competency evaluation
  • Active listing on the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) QMAP registry
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Preferred

  • Prior experience in assisted living, skilled nursing, or a hospital setting

Growth and Training

You will receive orientation and ongoing training, including competency assessments and in-service education required by state law, along with access to continuing education opportunities.
