System Test Engineer with Security Clearance

What you'll do As a Systems Test Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in the integration, documentation, and testing of Viasat's UHF satellite communication (SATCOM) terminal and software products! You'll be a key member of a team responsible for bringing the SATCOM terminal and software to life at our facilities and customer sites. The day-to-day

• Prepare Test Plans and Procedures that meet customer requirements to guide the effort to develop and build custom test setups and automation using company and industry standards.
• Use RF test equipment to test both new hardware and software releases for satellite communication products.
• Full-cycle test development on legacy and new products, from a new release on an existing hardware terminal to a first release on a new hardware platform.
• Automate software testing using commercially available tools.
• Communicate with a multi-functional development engineering team to fix integration and system verification test failures.
• Lead or assist in Factory system testing and integration of large-scale UHF SATCOM systems, ensuring accurate system setup, optimization, and functionality.
• Prepare and present technical reports summarizing integration and test results and any corrective actions identified. What you'll need
• 5+ years of experience in crafting test requirements, test plans, test cases, methodology, and executing tests.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related engineering program, or an Electronics Associate degree supplemented by equivalent professional experience.
• Familiarity with a variety of lab equipment like oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including the OSI model, Layer 2 (Data Link), and Layer 3 (Network) technologies, basic IP/MAC addresses, TCP, and UDP protocols.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Up to 25% travel.
• U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance. What will help you on the job
• Experience with a programming or scripting language (Python, C/C++, or others).
• Experience with test automation tools.
• Experience with testing wireless communication or satellite communication systems.

Salary range $82,000.00 - $129,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $102,000.00- $153,000.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
