Job Description
RDTS is seeking a cleared Network Engineer (with VTC administration and networking expertise) to support the U.S. Dept of Treasury in Washington, D.C. This position is full-time, 100% onsite in downtown DC, Monday-Friday standard office hours, and available immediately upon favorable background check clearance. The Network Engineer shall perform a full range of duties to support network operations and administration services that encompasses major hardware and infrastructure software platforms throughout the enterprise system. The network includes the intranet, extranet, LAN, and WAN. Support may include after-hours or weekend support for maintenance, outage resolution, or other service support requested by the government. Tasks include:
- Build and maintain the day-day operation of the TFIN computer network. Maintain hardware and software;Â
- Assist in disaster recovery operations. Protect data, software, and hardware from attacks;Â
- Replace faulty network hardware components. Work closely with customers to identify potential issues and fix existing problems;Â
- Design, configure, and test networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software. Review network designs and configurations to ensure consistency with architecture;Â
- Implement, administer, and troubleshoot CISCO network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers; Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system problems;Â
- Monitor and optimize network performance;Â
- Coordinate computer network access and use;Â
- Replace faulty network hardware components;Â
- Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures;Â
- Confer with customers and users and solve existing system issues;Â
- Implement network and operating System Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to secure all aspects of the network;Â
- Assist in providing IATT and ATO packages; Conduct research and testing on the state-of-the-art network information technologies;Â
- Participate in customer briefings and design reviews;Â
- Create, update, and maintain system level baseline documentation to include block diagrams, Simple Network Diagrams (SND), Detailed Network Diagrams (DND), and router and switch configuration Templates;
- Troubleshoot and resolve VTC connectivity issues.
- Active Security Clearance
- Minimum of 5 years\' experience in supporting network operations with a federal government agency
- Demonstrated knowledge of CISCO network devices
- Desired certifications: CCNP, CCNA, Security+, Net+
