Job description

AI Engineer
REMOTE
Min - 12+ IT Exp
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction now and in the future. The company will not sponsor employment visas for this role.
Skills: AI / Forward deployed Engineering roles:
Our forward deployed engineers are all highly AI-native (using developer tools like Claude code/codex etc. in their day-to-day workflow) to effectively build and deploy systems with high quality and speed. A strong full stack generalist is usually a good fit when they also have the expertise in the AI tooling to move quickly
Scope varies by engagement, but the work spans:
· Software development — building and maintaining production services, APIs, and application code
· Agentic AI and AI/ML systems — LLM-backed agents, retrieval pipelines, prompt and model orchestration, evaluation
· Data and modeling — data science, statistical modeling, and the pipelines that feed both
· Database and infrastructure — schema design, query performance, deployment, and the operational side of keeping it running
· Technology consulting — direct technical engagement with client stakeholders, including explaining and defending design decisions
The tech stack can vary, but the core skills we look for there are:
· Senior-level engineering experience delivering production software that other people depend on.
· Fluency in at least one primary language we use heavily (Python, TypeScript / Node, or a comparable backend language) and the ability to move between them.
· Real database competence: schema design, query performance, and knowing why the slow thing is slow.
· Cloud and deployment experience (AWS or equivalent), containers, CI/CD etc.
· The judgment to work in a production system carrying sensitive data — you understand why logging the wrong field is a serious incident, not a style question.
· Ability to work directly with non-engineers, including client stakeholders, and explain technical tradeoffs without either condescending or hiding behind jargon.
· Self-direction. Small team, high autonomy, minimal supervision by design.
