Job Description

Sigma Defense is seeking a General Engineering Technician to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The hired candidate will be responsible for the manual labor involved with mechanical assembly and integration. The applicant should be willing and comfortable with hand/power tools and heavy lifting. As long as the applicant meets the majority of the requirements, we can train them for the other tasks. Travel may be expected for 1 - 2 weeks during the year to support repairs at events and testing at other locations.

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be able to lift 50 - 75 lbs.
  • Must be able bodied.
  • Must be willing to work around grease, dust, debris, and oil.
  • Mechanical Assembly or Integration experience is preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Clearance may be sponsored for the right candidate.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) is required.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

  • Fabrication of mechanical structures and assemblies.
  • Mechanical and Electrical integration.
  • General Maintenance.
  • Painting and/or coating processes.
  • Cutting metal tubes or sheet metal.
  • Operation of hand tools and power tools.
  • May be involved with 12v and 24v systems (depending on experience).
  • Required to lift 50 - 75lbs.

Pay Range: $24 - $28 per hour.
