Job Description

Location: Hounslow, West London

A forward-thinking secondary school in Hounslow is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher to join their Social Sciences department from January 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students with a fascination for the human mind and behaviour, equipping them with the tools to understand themselves and others.

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging and thought-provoking Psychology lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5, introducing students to the core concepts and theories of psychology.
  • Foster a curiosity about human behaviour, cognition, and emotion, encouraging students to explore different perspectives and engage in critical analysis.
  • Create a stimulating learning environment where students feel confident to discuss psychological issues and apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a rigorous and stimulating Psychology curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Incorporate a range of teaching methods and resources, including experiments, case studies, and research projects, to enhance student understanding.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their academic development.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A strong understanding of the UK A-Level Psychology specification.
  • A degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • A proven track record of successful teaching and learning outcomes in Psychology.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • A passion for Psychology and a commitment to fostering critical thinking and scientific inquiry in young people.
